STORYLINE
A string of mysterious disappearances connected to cyberbullying in a school leads to the dismantling of a baby-trafficking ring.
SYNOPSIS
It’s the beginning of a new school year at Barra High School and the new students meet the old students.
Two large groups are formed. The popular, mainstream influencers and the alternatives who are looking for new directions and innovative ideas. They all share the dilemmas and hopes of teenagers. But the paths they take are different.
OLÍVIA has a dysfunctional family life. She’s only 17 and she takes care of her siblings as well as studying. MIGUEL is on a collision course with his father, a doctor who wants his son to carry on the family tradition. Olívia and Miguel meet a few days before classes begin, unaware that they are going to be classmates, and meet again at the welcome party for the students.
The D’ZRT band is playing at the party. The group is looking for talents to launch in a music contest. The announcement causes lots of excitement because everybody wants to be the new D’ZRT.
During the party, one student is the victim of cyberbullying. Pictures of her taking her clothes off for a stranger begin to circulate. Mortified with shame, she runs away from the party and later disappears from home.
This is the first in a string of mysterious disappearances, all of them apparently connected to cyberbullying. Each case is preceded by the exposure of a secret or an unspeakable weakness.
Any one of them could be the next to disappear and the tension is constant. Those that have compromising secrets try to hide them at all costs.
The case of the missing students will put Olívia and Miguel on opposing sides and will be the biggest hindrance to their romance.
Along with the tension caused by the disappearances, the participants in the talent contest use the weapons they have, and even ones they do not have, to win the contest and be the new D’ZRT.
Season 3
MORANGOS COM AÇÚCAR – SUMMER
SYNOPSIS
It’s vacation time! The students of Barra High School are getting ready for an unforgettable summer, their last before the challenges of university and reaching adulthood.
A group of friends choose Vila Nova de Mil Fontes for their vacations. It’s going to be all sun, surfing, and partying, or maybe not! The school year is over, but there are secrets yet to be revealed. An extraordinary crime will put everybody to the test. Will the friendship that unites the group be able to withstand all of this?
On the beach, like in the school corridors, nothing is what it seems!
Season 4 and 5
MORANGOS COM AÇÚCAR
SYNOPSIS
After the events of the previous year, Crómio was replaced as school principal by Madalena Soares, a former teacher hired to bring new dynamics to the school.
With the help of another teacher, Zé Milho, the new principal organizes an extra-curricular course in the performing arts, CARPE, with music, dancing, and acting classes. The course is vehemently opposed by Jorge Tadeu, the Administrative and Financial Director, whose self-appointed role is to put the house in order. Tadeu has disproportionate power and makes a point of using it.
Madalena has a deadline to prove that her project is feasible, but when a sex abuse scandal breaks out in the school, her goals are jeopardized.
